Returned here for another lazy Sunday brunch. We arrived to find our organizer had mistakenly made reservations (a must) for two weeks from today. Amazingly, the staff were able to seat us, and outside, on this hot and overcast/sunny day. It would have been unbearable in direct sunlight but it was delightful, if humid, and the beautiful harbor and entertaining people parade made it worthwhile. Oh, and the food of course. We three started with a mimosa, a cosmo, and a sparkling wine, all delicious. I had Eggs Benedict w/ham, cooked to perfection, with a lovely dressed side salad and roast potatoes. Friend 1 had chicken and waffles, with a side salad, and Friend 2 had a smash burger with french fries. All were more than satisfied with their meals. The service was prompt and cordial. Parking (not validated) at the nearby Pier 4 garage was manageable ($22 for about 2 hours). Will definitely be back!
Four years later and still going strong. Friendly service across the board from the hostess who found us a gorgeous table outside last night to the knowledgable server and everyone who helped him. Delicious food, fantastic, inventive cocktails, and a stunning venue. Still one of my favorite places to eat out in the city!
Our first time there for lunch. A lovely view of the seaport and a nice place to stroll. I had the salmon salad which tasted really fresh, while my hubby had a Cubano sandwich with fried pork which he liked. The service was efficient and friendly. We had bubbly too.
Come for the view and stay for the food. A lot of speciality cocktails. All the breads were super fresh, buttery, and charred. Pasta sauces had great flavors. Duck had a nice gamy finish. Ribs were fall off the bone. Come with atleast 4 people so you can try more dishes with smaller portions.
As we walked past the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, there appeared to be plenty of open seating on the patio and inside so we decided to stop in for a late brunch. Much to our surprise, there appeared to be a wait. The hostess was very gracious and she let us know that a table would soon become available. We enjoyed our espresso martini and lavender 75. There's a strong espresso flavor in the martini. I ordered the pressed flank steak sandwich and my boo ordered the eggs Benedict. The presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. Nice way for us to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
Okay, full disclosure, I used to go to Anthony's Pier 4 back in the day...so I was intrigued to revisit the area. Multiple sources recommended Woods Hill when I asked where to eat in Boston so I figured the food would be good plus I'd get to see the waterfront spot again. The entire area is stunning. The ICA building, Mass Mutual building...ceiling to floor windows enable you to see not only the beautiful buildings, but also the boats going by... The service was outstanding. The sommelier guided us to delicious wines that pared well with the dishes we ordered. A special was the hand pulled burrata which we ordered along with the green goddess and the kale salad to start. Yummy! Three of us had the cod which was amazing, especially with the evoo mashed potatoes. The fourth in our party had the bucatini which was also a treat. Portions are good, substantial but not too big which is rare these days. All topped off with the carrot cake...another hit. Glad we went and we'll be back!
I am already a Chef Charlie fan. Starting with their flagship restaurants in West Concord - Woods Hill Table and Adelitas. The owner, Christina's farm to table, responsible farming, care for the planet and care for how we feed ourselves is vividly shared with the simplicity and elegance that Charlie puts into his menus. This visit was a colab with the American Lamb folks, who up to covid brought us Lamb Jam, and Grigich Hills Estate wines. During Lamb Jam-ish events, restaurants are gifted American Lamb and put to the test. 4 exquisite Grigich wines and pairings, Lamb swag and a memorable meal. Family-style was not my thing, but they made it work. Passed plates included chilled lobster, parsnips with lamb bacon (LAMB LARDONS MMMMMM) and a BEAUTIFUL arugula salad lightly dressed, laying on killer walnut tahini and blue cheese/walnut prosciutto wrapped dates. OH and those cheese puffs. Yea. He hit it hard. Then he surprised us with these dainty and MESSY sticky lamb ribs... OOOOHHHHH YEAH! Family style lamb shoulder that melted in your mouth, pommes Anna exquisitely crispy and creamy (from the potato) cooked in lamb fat was simplistic decadence. SO delicious (you should be sad you weren't there. IT WAS KILLER!) and grilled gem lettuce with labneh. HEAVEN! Grigich's not syrupy and restrainly sweet dessert wine sat besides a beautiful olive oil cake that also wasn't slap-you-in-sugar. Just beautiful. Lamb is currently the Napa Valley landscapping power keeping the soils fertilized and manicured. The symbionic relationship between the shepards and the vinters is an act of art. What isn't is the fact that the USA has not warmed up to lamb because of Mary. I don't think kids like to hear about how grandma slaughtered and roasted the little lamb. A sustainable and healthy protein enjoyed across the planet, US lamb should take its place on our plates. I'm ok BBQ the lamb for Mary. You should too. Woods Hill Table Pier 4 did not disappoint. AT ALL. Can't wait to come back. And spend college tuition because it ain't cheap. Worth the splurge! And now, for a STANDING OVATION For the Chef and his crew!
Visiting Boston and this place is known for its twist on a lobster roll. Instead of bread it is served in a fresh, warm popover. I love it. Less filling and it actually helps bring out the freshness of the lobster which at this place is dressed to ensure you eat more lobster than dressing. The house made old bay chips are divine and the generous portion of side salad is delicious and refreshing. The restaurant is located a Pier 4 which is a bit out of the way but decorated nicely with big windows overlooking the water. Definitely worth a trip!
Very nice farm to table place! Everything was pretty good but their squid ink pasta was the most memorable ~ The pasta was al dente and was super flavorful and the seafood was not too overwhelming. The duck was a bit too chewy and tough to eat so I would pass on that next time. It was my first time trying steak tartare and it was surprisingly pretty tasty! It was out of my comfort zone but wood hills did a pretty good job. Service was great and the waitress was attentive. I came here twice so far and had a good experience both times!
Loved this beautiful dinner spot right on the water. The restaurant is elegant and crisp and gives you a view of the pier. The service was attentive and helpful and they even brought us gluten free bread as a free starter. Food was also amazing, we got the following: - potato crusted cod: really delicious fish with a crispy outside - Lamb ribs: favorite item of the meal, the sauce was Asian inspired and delicious - broccoli: good but nothing special - mezcal drink: can't remember the exact name but it was amazing, I love a spirit forward drink and this was the perfect mix of smoky and sweet - Watermelon salad: light and refreshing - tuna tartare: also a nice light starter with savory sauces Overall loved the service and food! It's a little pricey but worth it.
